Fallen Leaf Imaging… photos from Bellingham Bay

The very beginning of Fallen Leaf Imaging is rooted in many of years of experience. Experience as a photographer but not as a blogger. Without any particular depth to the introduction, here goes.  The images above are from a one hour ‘walk about’ along Bellingham Bay and Fairhaven. My new lens, a Tokina 11-16mm, had arrived and I was wanting to put it to work. The light was good and the afternoon was free.  Breaking my own rule of not using a lens without at least a 0-ND filter to protect it… off I went. The spectacular clouds with light breaking through that are so common to Bellingham Bay were contrasted with the warm toned sandstone along the shore.

The little old fire hydrant was a fun catch. There it stood, seeming to stand guard over an old log and marshy bay near Fairhaven. The contrasting color and the somewhat ridiculous placement of the hydrant, with nothing nearby to catch fire, was too good to pass up. It was a good day for landscape photography in Bellingham.
